By Christopher Walker

Whether you use it as a dipping sauce or want to pour it over top of your favorite meat, fish, or carb dish, this Red Chile Sauce recipe is so versatile you can use it for just about anything! This particular recipe comes with plenty of bite, so be prepared to chase it with something to put the fire out!

Spiced with jalapeno peppers, this sauce will rev up your fat-burning engine. Spices have been shown to give the metabolism a boost, helping to burn more calories and stored body fat even long after you’ve enjoyed your meal. It’s the “thermogenic” effect of spicy foods like the jalapeno peppers included in this sauce recipe that is believed to help burn calories and help with weight loss or maintenance. Eating spicy foods like hot peppers can also help you feel fuller for longer without having to eat as much to satisfy your hunger.

Spicy foods like jalapeno peppers may also help to promote a healthy heart. It’s the “capsaicin” in jalapeno peppers that can even play a role in pain reduction by depleting a chemical compound in the body that’s responsible for sending pain signals to the brain. Capsicum is also what gives jalapeno peppers their spicy flavor, too. Plus, these little powerhouses have a decent amount of vitamin C as well, so they really do more for your health than just spice it up!

Meat, fish, and starchy carb dishes can be pretty bland if they’re not jazzed up with some sort of spices or sauces, and this Red Chile Sauce is the perfect accompaniment to any base you choose to consume at any given meal.
